Kilner, Margaret

March 7, 1925 - November 23, 2016

Margaret passed away peacefully after undergoing heart pacemaker surgery at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter Susan and husband, Toby; grandson Travis Cline; brother, Jack Earl and wife, Nan; daughter-in-law Julia and grandson, Josh; sister-in-law, Trudy Gilmour, as well as close friends, Geoffrey Vale and Gisela Bates. She also leaves behind her many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family in Canada, the US, and England. She was predeceased by her son, John in 1994 and her husband Frank in 1997.

Over the years, Margaret travelled to many wonderful places, but she always loved returning to her Nanaimo home by the sea. She cherished her wonderful ocean view and the quiet, peaceful nature of her neighbourhood. Her property was a safe haven for wildlife of all kinds and many people would stop and stare at a family of deer happily grazing on her front lawn.

You are invited to attend a celebration of Margaret’s life at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo. The service will begin at 2 o’clock on Friday, December 2. Donations to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation in Margaret’s memory are gratefully.
