Weeks, Margaret Isabella “Ruth”
(nee Strang)
Ruth, born in Ladysmith on March 12, 1931, the only child of Thomas and Florence Strang, passed suddenly, July 23, 2016 at her home in Ladysmith. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Ken; and she will be lovingly remembered by her family. Children Grant, Marilyn (Russell), Brad (Sandy) and Janice (Paul). Grandchildren Jordan (Margie), Garrett (Jessica), Dakota, Brighton, Ryder, Dylan (Hayley), Brady, Emily, Annika, and Haven. Great grandchildren Cooper, Claire, Allison, Reagan and Piper. Ruth enjoyed a long and rewarding career teaching in the communities of Ladysmith, Chemainus, and North Oyster. After retiring she and Ken started a new career as owners of the Hobby Hut in Ladysmith.
Ruth was a longtime member of the Ladysmith First United Church, the Ladysmith Hospital Auxilary, the Eagles 2101 Auxilary, the Probus Club, and the Ladysmith Historical Society.
The family takes great comfort in knowing that our Mother and Father are reunited once again.
A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held Monday, August 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Ladysmith First United Church, 232 High St. Ladysmith, B.C. Followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Eagles Hall, 921 First Ave. Ladysmith.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Ruth’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and Yukon or the Canadian Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
