Margaret Florentine Bolen

January 19, 1927 – June 17, 2016

With sadness we bid passing to another of a great generation. Born Margaret Czernick into a family of nine children struggling in early 20th Century Saskatchewan, she survived farm life on an unforgiving prairie, knew the Depression’s cold and hunger, and saw her brothers go to uncertain fates in World War Two. Never did she complain. Married for forty-eight years to Edward Mike Bolen, who died in June of 2000, Margaret made the best of her time, never alone, always loved by family and friends, curling pals, lawn bowling friends and bridge partners. She is survived by four grateful children; Dennis (Soressa), Lynn (Charles), Neil (Patti), and Eric; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Celebration of Life to take place at 2pm Friday, July 15, at First Memorial Chapel, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, BC.
