Margaret Elizabeth
Margaret passed away on November 20, 2012. Mom was born in Jasmin, Saskatchewan in 1920. She will be joining her late husband, Gerald, of 56 years, who passed away in 2010. Mom will be greatly missed by her loving and thankful sons: Guy, Glenn and Grant; daughters-in-law, Wendy and Roxanne; grandchildren, Ben and Brenna; brother, Jack and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan, where she developed her strong work ethic, which she maintained her entire life. Mom always put her husband, sons and others’ needs first. She had an amazing ability to always put on a spread to all who stopped by the house, and her incredible chocolate chip or raisin cookies were enjoyed by all for decades. “Mom, please take your well-deserved rest now and thank you for all that you have provided to your family and friends.”

The family extends their extreme gratitude to the VIHA Community Nurses who came to Mom’s home to assist her over the past two years. Special thanks to all staff at the Wexford Creek Assisted Living, staff from the 5th floor at NRGH and the Palliative Care Unit. A Memorial Service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m, followed by interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, 2347 Cedar Road at 2:00 pm.
