In loving memory ~
Margaret Anne Fiddick, who went by "Anne", departed her loving family on June 17, 2022.
Anne was born in Montreal, Quebec on October 16, 1944 to Margaret and Donald Davidson.
As Mayor of Gold River for 18 years, Anne was known for her dedication to having public health available to all and the protection of natural resources such as; forestry, parks and water. Due to her involvement with the various communities and politicians she was instrumental in having the aquatic centre built. Because of this and her personal dedication to health and fitness the Village of Gold River named the aquatic centre in honour. Anne was chairman of the Board to many organizations that she felt the general public needed a voice. Her hobbies included so many types! She loved her horses, was an avid swimmer, fiber artist, a weaver, knitter, seamstress, quilter, fine art artist. She also played the piano and classical guitar.
She is survived by her husband Jim of 60 years and children: Tracy (Bill) and Susan (Jeff), Grandchildren: Brittney (Walter), Jennifer (Shawn), Kyle (Jenna), Todd, Steven (Matteah), Charlotte (Darren), Great Grandchildren: Caynin, Shelton, Dawsyn, Brodie, Paige, James, Kennedy, Marilyn, Luci, Mia, Cameron and Jackson.
Anne is also survived by her brother Earl Davidson (Carol) and her nephews; Dean (Bea) Kelly, Max and D'Arcy (Zoe), James, Ben.
Services will be held at Cedar Community Hall in Nanaimo on June 30th at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada can be made in Anne's name.
