Makoto Fukui
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Makoto Fukui, 90 years, at his home on December 24, 2016. He was pre-deceased by his wife Hisako in 2002.
Makoto will be profoundly missed by daughter’s Peggy (David) MacLeod, Ruby (Glen) Deering, sons Richard, and Stephen (Jeanine). Grandchildren Theresa, Kevin, Alison, Kyle, Raymond, Kianna, and Darren, and great-granddaughter Cherry. Also by his brother Toshio and sister Yuriko both in Japan.
Makoto enjoyed gardening, bonsai, cooking, writing in his journal, exercising, doing Sudoku, spending time with his family, his koi pond and maintaining his home.
We would like to thank the paramedics, nurses, doctors and staff at N.R.G.H., especially Dr. Kelvin Houghton, who provided exceptional care for our father.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, One Newcastle Ave. Nanaimo, BC on January 14, 2017 at 10:00 am.
