In Loving Memory ~
Lynda Alma Colbeck was born on November 25th, 1953, in Brampton Ontario to Ruby (nee Craig) and Alfred Colbeck. While growing up on a farmstead in Bolton, Ontario Lynda and her older sister Dianne attended Bramalea and Mayfield high school.
After graduation Lynda moved to Toronto to attend York University where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She then attended The University of Toronto and received her Master of Library Science degree.
After finishing her masters, Lynda worked as a librarian at the David Dunlap Observatory of the University of Toronto where she met her husband, William Weller.
William's work took them to Chile. As their love grew, so did the gallery of their passport stamps. Together their travels span the globe, creating colourful memories.
In February 1988, in Santiago, Chile, their son Gregory William Weller was born.
Besides being a wife, a mother, sister and friend, Lynda was an author, painter and most recently a potter. Lynda always maintained a thirst for knowledge and took great pleasure in supporting others in reaching their creative goals. Her sense of humour was second to none and she was as generous as she was funny.
Lynda saw the world as any artist would, finding growth and adventure in the process of painting and potting-seizing life with her whole heart. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, you'd know life embraced her right back.
Lynda led a vibrant life and on April 6th, 2022, Lynda passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and the palliative care team at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
Lynda is survived by her husband William Weller, her son Gregory, and her sister Dianne Burns (nee Colbeck).
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support that has been provided in many heart-felt forms.
