Lucille Grace Mallard

March 9, 1926 – September 8, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Lucille Grace Dundas, September 8, 2014 at 88 years of age.

Lucille was born March 9, 1926 in Manyberries, Alberta. The family later moved to Onoway, Alberta. After meeting and marrying her husband, Donald, they moved to Port Alberni, and made it their home for over 40 years. To be closer to family, Don and Lucille moved to Nanaimo, where she resided for 20 more years.

She was predeceased by her husband Don in 1997, and leaves to mourn her passing, her brother Harold (Vivian) Dundas; children, Gary (Brenda) Mallard, Arlene Fair, Nolan Mallard, Janice (Kevin) Harris; grandchildren, Kami, Kevin, Andrew (Chotana), Jaime (Lia), Jena, James, Nathan (Jemmie-Lee), Barbara (Steven), Leon; and great granddaughter Niah, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Love for her God Jehovah and her family were of prime importance in her life. “The God of all comfort and tender mercies” sustained her throughout her life. She looked forward to the promise of an earthly paradise, “where war, sickness and death will be no more.”

Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. S. Beerman and the caring staff at Kiwanis House. Mom often commented that they took good care of her.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses,

2114 Meredith Road, Nanaimo, BC at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 20, 2014.
