Louise Thien

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom after a long, hard, courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by parents Ben and Helen Barnes. Survived by husband Bill Veldhoen, daughters Debbie (Dan) Wallace and Tammy Thien, son Rob Thien, stepdaughter Cara Thien, sister Linda (Len) Alyward, brother Doug Barnes (Janet), sister-in-law Judith Barnes, mother-in-law Marg Eddy, stepdaughters Raelene and Josie Veldhoen, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to the nurses and doctors of the Nanaimo Cancer Clinic and 3rd floor nurses at NRGH. Also to the VIHA home care nurses and aides.
Celebration of Life to be held November 7, 2014, at Branch 256 Legion, Bowen Road, from 1 pm – 3 pm. Flowers gratefully declined but donations to a charity of your choice in mom’s name graciously accepted.
