Tanner, Louise Barbara

aka ‘Babs’

It is with sadness and immense love we announce the passing of Louise Barbara Tanner. Louise was born in Fernie, B.C. in 1937, the youngest of 12 children to Frances & Charles Kopchiak. She then moved to Nanaimo in 1954 where she resided until her passing.

Predeceased by the love of her life Vern, her parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

Lousie is survived by her loving family, Jeff & Lori, Michael and Dennis, Kathy & Bob and her best companion Abby. Grandchildren Megan & Zeek, Rachelle & Ryan, Mandala, Sebastian, James, Johnny, and completing her circle of life Great granddaughter Evelyn May, brother Henry & Doreen Coplin and numerous nieces and nephews, along with some very treasured friends.

Louise’s greatest joy was her family. She taught us all to be generous and strong and her greatest virtue was kindness, shown to everyone that crossed her path.

Special thoughts to Hector & Sheena Baille, and the incredibly kind and supportive staff and volunteers at Palliative Care at NRGH that made our Mom & Grandma’s journey so peaceful.

No service by request. Donations may be made specifically to the Palliative Care Unit NRGH.
