In Loving Memory ~
With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Loretta Louise Wainwright. Loretta passed peacefully at the age of 88 at Woodgrove Manor in Nanaimo, BC in the evening of January 17th. Loretta was born in Prince George, BC to parents Fred and Fannie Byjork (Burke).
Loretta is predeceased by siblings Lenora, Shirley, Joy and her daughter Brenda.
She is survived by brother Butch, children Gaile, Teresa, Gordon, Valerie, Ricky, Randy and Rod and her many grandchildren/ great-grandchildren.
Loretta began her family in Prince Rupert and Penticton, spent many years in Prince George and finally Nanaimo.
Loretta was a loving and nurturing woman who was not afraid to ruffle some feathers when necessary. Anyone who knew Loretta knows she took great pride in her home and enjoyed teaching young women in her life the same. Loretta opened her home and heart to many throughout her life.
Loretta's mother passed early and Loretta was a caretaker for her siblings. Later in life she took in and cared for her ill grandmother and later father. For many years Loretta hosted international students in her home.
Loretta was spunky, stubborn, outspoken and fun. Loretta loved gardening, cooking, bowling, and was known for hosting incredible parties. Loretta will be deeply missed by her family and all those who's lives she's touched. Loretta is finally reunited with her daughter Brenda after missing her for so long.
A celebration of life will be held for family in the near future.
