Lo (Elola) Cox left this world on Saturday February 2, 2008. She was comfortable at home and well cared for by all who loved her. Born in Vancouver in 1930, she moved with her family to Gabriola Island in 1967 whereshe raised her children, Randy, Barry and Jan. In 1975, she married Bobby Cox. Bob and Lo moved to Nanaimo in 1983 and lived in various areas until they settled in their friendly neighbourhood where they enjoyed their yard and garden for many years. In her youth, Lo was a strong track athlete, swimmer and Senior A Softball player. She passed on the love of sports, the outdoors, and nature to her three children and spent many a day and evening at the ball-park watching each of them play. Bob and Lo enjoyed many years travelling throughout Canada and the US by motorhome. They traveled to the mainland to camp with Jan, to Wisconsin to visit Barry and family, and enjoyed many weekends camping on the island with Randy, Debbie and family. She loved her grandchildren, Jonathon and Laura. She was also “Gramma” to Anna and loved her like her own. Lo, Mom, Gramma, beautiful friend and neighbour will be loved forever and well thought of by all who knew her. There are countless other people, pets, birds and creatures who have known the loving hand and warm heart of her kind and caring soul. She left thinking about everyone.
