Lloyd Hogue

December 13, 2017

Oct 3, 1932 - Dec 13, 2017
Dad was born in Groudard Alberta on October 3, 1932. His parents were Mose Hogue and Kathleen Moore. As an adult he served in the army overseas as a peacekeeper. When Dad came back to Canada he was stationed in Victoria, and he found that Vancouver Island was the most beautiful place he had ever been to. Dad decided that one day he would raise his family here.

After leaving the military, Dad met the love of his life and our mum Hazel. Hazel sadly left us in 2000, and is now with our Dad once again. Together they happily moved to Nanaimo to raise their family.

Dad's first job in Nanaimo was working for the the City of Nanaimo where he helped to build Bowen Park. Dad often spoke about planting the roses on Bowen Road. Dad then went on to work for Harmac Pacific in the steam plant for over 30 years until his retirement.

Our Dad leaves behind one brother William Hogue (Elaine), daughter Brenda Hogue (her children Jessicca Nielsen and Lloyd Hogue Jr.), Carmen Moore (Barrie), Cheryl Beaudry, Greg Beaudry. Grandchildren Pam, Kyla, Jane, Emily, predeceased by his eldest grandson Gregory Robert John Meek. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in B.C. and Alberta.

The family would to thank Dr. Kaban, the staff at Palliative Care at NRGH, and Elaine Clark and all of the staff at the Pacifica Seniors Lodge for all of their support for our Dad and our family.
