In Loving Memory ~

Born March 14,1941 in Kamsack Saskatchewan and passed peacefully at Cowichan Lodge on July 11, 2024.

Lloyd was predeceased by his wife Marlene in 2007 and siblings Bert and Beverley.

Lloyd was raised in Saskatoon and sunk shaft in the potash mine with his father Hubert. At age 23 he made the brave decision to head west to settle in Nanaimo with his wife Marlene and three young children. He was employed at Dairyland Foods for twenty-five years before he took early retirement to look after his wife Marlene, who predeceased him in 2007.

Lloyd volunteered for the Nanaimo Softball Association for many years as coach of his son Jeff and daughter Cathi's ball teams. After Marlene's passing, he started thrifting for hidden treasures. He sold for many years at the Cedar flea market where he always had a free toy box for the kids. Lloyd could be found thrifting with his grandchildren Lance, Tyler and Carli at Value Village and many of the local thrift stores where he made many friends.

He enjoyed caring for his home in Cinnabar Valley and was the self-named" King of Cinnabar Valley" as his house was the first one on Richardson Road in 1971. He remained at home until his final days.

Lloyd is survived by his daughters Juli and Cathi, and his son Jeff (Deanna). His grandchildren Lance (Jordan), Tyler (Alicia) and Carli meant the world to him. He is also survived by great grandchildren Ethan who loved going to Value Village thrifting with him and great granddaughter Mia. He is also survived by sisters, Joyce (Rae), Evelyn, Elsie (Wilf) and June.

The family wishes to thank his nurses Diana Livingstone and Sherise Peddle and the staff of sixth floor at NRGH who looked after him in his final days.

A private family and friends memorial will be held at a later date.
