Passed away at home in Ladysmith, January 23rd, 2009 after struggling with the effects of Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. Linda was born in Dome Creek, BC, June 21, 1948. She is survived by her partner of 8 years, Greg Kenmuir, mother Charlotte Kehler (nee Hope) of Salmon Arm, son Eugene Laughren, daughters Shannon Laughren, and Sherry Barton. Her precious grandsons Taelyn Clement, Tighson and Shymon Laughren and Daemon and Brody Laughren-Smith. Predeceased by her husband in 1994, Bent Lidemark. Great thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Vancouver General ICU, Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria and Nanaimo Regional Hospital, who helped sustain her quality of life over the last 3 years. VIHA employees and BC Ferries for respecting and providing her disabled status. She so appreciated their efforts anytime on board a ferry. The employees and management of BC Hydro and BCTC who supported our difficult times together every step of the way and mostly her live-in caregiver of 1 1/2 years Jeanette Bucatan. Linda had worked in Victoria at the old Cherry Bank Hotel, Ma Millars Pub, Royal Canadian Legion Langford and most recently Ink Spot Bingo, Duncan. She was particulrly fond of her Grandfather, Adrian Hope, founding father of the Metis Nation of Alberta, best of friends to Grant McKwen, and confidant to former Prime Minister John G. Diefenbacker. No service by request. In liew of flowers donations to the Canadian Red Cross Society in her honour are appreciated.
