Lillian Jean Rourke
Born April 24, 1914, passed into the hands of the Lord on February 3, 2009.
Devoted Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend.
Predeceased by her loving husband Thomas, dearly loved daughter Sandra and dear eldest grandson Ronald Michael as well as 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
Survived by 3 daughters, Noreen (Brian), Sally (Al), Theresa (Jimmy), 10 nephews (especially Keith and Dan), 9 nieces, 1 great niece, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandsons, 5 great granddaughters and 1 great-great granddaughter.
She will always be honored and remembered for her concern for others before herself.
No flowers by request. Donations to Cancer and/or Aids Research Foundations would be gratefully appreciated.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Dufferin Arbutus (especially Barb, RN and Patrick). Also Dr. McNie and Dr. Oliver for their constant care and compassion.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Ecumenical Centre, 6234 Spartan Road, Nanaimo, BC.
