It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce Lesley’s passing on Thursday, Dec. 7th at NRGH with her family at her side. Lesley was born on Oct. 11th, 1948 at St. Bonifice Manitoba to Douglas and Dorothy Edwards. Lesley spent most of her childhood growing up in Vancouver prior to moving to Vancouver Island in 1969 and settling in Nanaimo in 1972.


She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 38 years Raymond and two sons Todd (Jennifer) of Chicago and Dwain (Chelsea) of Nanaimo, five grandchildren Lucas, Max, Jessica, Isaac and Mitchell.


Predeceased by brother Barry 1964 and her father Douglas 1974. Survived by her mother Dorothy and sister Lynn (Ron) and their family.


Throughout Lesley’s life in Nanaimo she worked at BC Tel & NRG Hospital. Lesley was active in minor sports as a volunteer in support of her sons.

Lesley will always be loved and remembered by family and friends for her thoughtfulness kindness and love for life. Her gorgeous smile and sense of humor will be sadly missed by all of us that had the good fortune of knowing and loving her.


Interment will be held at Cedar Valley Cemetery at a later date. A memorial service will be held in honour of Lesley on Monday, Dec. 18th at 12:00 at Brechin United Church, 1998 Estevan Road with Reverend John Van Omme officiating.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at NRGH, 1200 Dufferin Crescent, Nanaimo, BC V9S 2B7 or BC Children’s Hospital at 4480 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC, V6H 3V4.


A Special thanks to Dr. Grantner, Dr. Carr and all the staff at NRGH for the kindness care and compassion they gave Lesley and her family through the period of her illness.
