LEONARD GEORGE WALKER

April 13, 2014

Leonard George Walker

December 9, 1921 – April 13, 2014

Dad passed away quietly on Sunday, April 13, 2014, a beautiful, sunny afternoon, in Nanaimo, BC. Predeceased by his wife, Nanette in 2004, he is survived by his daughter, Lindsay (Norm); son, Brian; grandchildren, Janice (Trevor) and Kimberly (Darren); and precious great grandchildren, Alexis and Olivia.

Born in Kelowna, BC on December 9, 1921, he moved to Vancouver at the age of 18 where he met and married Nanette. He worked for Kelly Douglas in Burnaby for 35 years until his retirement. After retiring, Mom and Dad moved to Qualicum Beach to enjoy his two passions – gardening and fishing.

Thanks to Anne and Hank Thompson for the many coffee and dinner dates with Dad to make sure he was alright.

Dad moved to Nanaimo Seniors Village in 2011 and lived there until his passing. The family extends many thanks to the wonderful Care Workers at Nanaimo Seniors Village, especially Rona.

There will be no service at Dad’s request. His ashes will be spread over Knox Mountain in Kelowna at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring Dad’s memory with a donation to a charity of your choice.

“Dad, you will be forever missed!”
