It is with great sadness we announce that Kristo Mihoc passed away peacefully in Nanaimo
Hospital at the age of 79.
Kristo was predeceased by his sister Maria. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 48 years Giordana, his children Marino (Luba) and Vincent, grandchildren Julia and Daniel, brothers Marin and Frano, sister Lucija, many nieces and nephews, and other family members.
Kristo was born in Lastovo, Croatia and immigrated to Calgary, Canada at the age of 27. There he and his brothers started a construction company. In Calgary Kristo met his wife and after their sons were born, they moved to B.C. This is where he pursued his passion for fishing and love for the ocean and worked as a commercial fisherman until his retirement.
The funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 1st, 2019, St. Peter's Catholic Church, 301 Machleary Str., Nanaimo.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
