In loving memory ~
Kirpal Singh Parmar passed away at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on July 16th, 2024, with his family by his side. Kirpal is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Darshan Kaur, son Gurprit and his wife Raj, Ranbir, Victor and his wife Jenn and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Aneel, Rhea, Jennaya, two surviving brothers Rajinder Singh and Sarabjit Singh. Predeceased by 4 siblings Dilbar Singh, Harsurat Singh, Harkamal Singh, sister Tajinder Kaur, his father Gurdial Singh and mother Pritam Kaur, they were always in his heart.
He landed in Canada in August 1973 and settled in Nanaimo working in the sawmill. He didn't long for plaining wood and quickly changed his path to one of entrepreneurship by opening the first East Indian grocery store in Nanaimo, before owning the Diplomat Motel for 16 years until 2006. After checking out of the motel, he was able to enjoy his retirement.
He was heavily involved in the church, loved politics of all kinds, and investing in the stock market were his true passions. He doted on the family pets Dice, Kuma, and Tito that had provided him so much love and companionship over the years.
Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Yates Memorial, Parksville B.C.
