Rowe

Rowe,

Kenneth Michael David Frank

February 01, 1948 - March 28, 2013

Ken was born in Calgary, Alberta and passed away in Nanaimo, BC with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife, Dale; two daughters: Ashley (Eduardo) and Stacey (Ali); three beautiful granddaughters: Isla, Luna and Bronte; and siblings: Ralph, Patricia, Richard, Andrew, Harold and Esta. Ken had numerous nieces and nephews who will also miss him immensely. He is predeceased by his parents, Lionel and Ruth; and brothers: Winston, Joe and Arthur.

Ken joined the RCMP in 1968 and was stationed in various communities throughout B.C. with his final posting to the Nanaimo Detachment in 1986. He retired in 1998. After the RCMP, Ken worked at Cyber City, then for Sharecost Rentals where he made many new friends. There weren’t many garage sales that Ken did not attend. Friends and family would always ask Ken if he had an extra “something or other” and he usually dug around and came up with what they were looking for. He had a passion for spending time fixing things for family and friends, no request was ever denied; he stepped up to the challenge. There was never a kinder and gentler soul than Ken. He will be sorely missed by his family and his multitude of friends. Our time was too short.

Ken and family thank Dr. Colin Walker for his unwavering time that he spent with us; as well as staff at PCU. A great big thank you to our friends and neighbours for their support during this trying time.

A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held at the East Wellington Legion on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation.
