BARBER, Kathy Lynn (Lynne), passed away peacefully at the age of 67, with her family by her side, on February 3rd, 2019 at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Palliative Care Ward.

Lynne was born in 1951 in Ganges, Salt Spring Island. Lynne was raised in, and graduated high school in Sooke, B.C.. She was an avid golfer. She absolutely loved to be on the golf course with her family and friends. She and her husband spent winters in Yuma, Arizona and travelled the world. Her favourite trip was to South Africa. It was there that she fell in love with the elephants.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Jim Barber; children Steven (Trudy) Barber and Shelley Barber; two grandchildren Olivia and Sophia Barber; sister Leah (Dan) Butler; cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Kitty Kwasnycia; brother Larry Kwasnycia and sister Lori (Ogden) Smith.

Lynne's family would like to extend their gratitude and many thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Palliative Care Ward for the wonderful care Lynne received. There will be a celebration of life for Lynne at the Nanaimo Golf course at a date to be announced, likely in early June.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Palliative Care Wing of your choice.
