Kathleen Elizabeth Gray
Kathleen passed away on November 18, 2016 at the age of 69. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Martin; her children, Karen (and son-in-law James) and Heather; her grandchildren, Caitlyn, Christopher and Matthew; her mother Joyce, her brothers Anthony and Geoffrey, and by her many relatives and friends. She fought cancer for 8 years, with no tears and few complaints. All who had the good fortune to know her will miss a truly remarkable and loving woman.
She lead a full and very active life and made the most of her years with Martin, enjoying family, friendships, travel, tennis, golf, hiking, cycling and gardening as well as many other activities. She was particularly pleased to be able to enjoy her grandchildren, coming as they did many years after her first cancer surgery.
The family would like to thank her doctors in Vancouver and Nanaimo and the nurses at the NRGH Palliative Care Unit. Particular thanks go to her surgeon in Vancouver, Dr. Miller, her oncologist, Dr. Hoskins and her family physician, Dr. Bland.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Nanaimo on the 7th January, 2017 at 1pm at the Nanaimo Golf Club. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation.
