August 6, 1920 - June 25, 2018
It is with an overwhelming and a confused feeling of grace; gratitude and sadness that we would like to inform the many friends and associates and distant family of Mrs. Katherine Marie Antrim of her passing in the morning hours of Monday the 25th of June at her residence in the Nanaimo Seniors Village.

Born to parents Ernest Knott, originally from Meldreth, Cambridgeshire and Marie Jacoby from the Grand Duche de Luxembourg in Nanaimo on the 6th of August 1920 Katherine spent her early years growing up on the family farm in Hilliers and attending school in Qualicum, B.C.

The first years of her marriage were spent in Port Alberni. Her family of 3 then moved to Woodfibre, where three more children soon blessed her household. Nine years later she and her family returned to Nanaimo where she spent her remaining years. She went into nursing in her midlife and thereby fulfilled a lifelong wish to tend to the ill and ailing.

In her early years she enjoyed music, dancing, knitting, gardening, landscaping and camping. In her midlife years she added international travel and playing the organ to her multitude of interests. Being an avid sportswoman she played on many tournament winning bowling teams and represented the province as a championship level golfer. In her later years she enjoyed winning at poker and watching the ups and downs of her beloved Toronto Blue Jays. A serious reader, you seldom found Katherine without a smile - especially when she was winning at the slots at her favorite casino. Combined with her enjoyment of others and her self- deprecating humour, Katherine made friends easily and left this world better for her having been in it.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ralph Antrim, and her only sibling Ernest Knott of Sooke, B.C. She is survived by her four children and spouses: Audrey Plecas, Patricia Neale (Robin), Gordon Plecas (Le Hang), Richard Plecas (Grazyna).

In addition to her own offspring, she leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and their children. In addition to the aforementioned she is also survived by 3 stepchildren that she had a guiding hand in helping Ralph raise.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at First Memorial, 1720 Bowen Rd.
