Kata Becir
July 4, 1926 -October 26, 2016
It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered with much love and admiration by: her son, Nick; daughter-in-law, Zorka; grandsons, Michael (Amelia), Christopher (Kelsey); great-grandsons, Benjamin and Alexander; as well as by many relatives and friends in Canada and Croatia.
Kata was born in Goljak, Croatia and immigrated to Canada in 1964 to be reunited with her husband, Steve, in Nanaimo. Throughout her life she was kind-hearted and hard-working, dedicated, and supportive to her family. She had a great personality and a good sense of humour. We will forever cherish our memories of the happy times spent together.
The family would like to thank Danica Kekich, Marija Bajan, and Nada Andjelkovic for their friendship and support of Kata, especially during the past few years. We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Steve Beerman and to Kata’s caregivers for their excellent care and compassion. To honour her request, there will be no service.
