Polten, Karl (Heinz) passed away peacefully in Nanaimo on April 7, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Hilde, children: Monika, Karen (Dave), Ron (Kim), Norman (Jan), Grandchildren: Andre, Mike, Steven, Meghann, Sondra, Alisa, Jayde. Great grandchildren: Emily and Justin.

Private family cremation, flowers declined, donations in memory of Heinz may be made to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
