June Ellen Ripka

June passed away peacefully at North Island Hospital, Courtenay on January 5, 2019. Predeceased by her parents Glen and Ruby Harris; daughter Gail Sharon Quin; her first husband Maurice Nelson Quin and second husband Walter Ripka. She is survived by her sons Terry (Margaret) Quin, Michael (Kathy) Quin and Pat (Dawn) Quin; daughter Janice (Art) Perry; grandchildren Darren (Jodi) Perry, Jason (Misty) Perry, Mike Hare, Rachel (Ryan) Rayner, Matthew (Lisa) Quin, Jill (Dewayne) Dominick, Kristy Quin, Tamara (Corey) Smith, Lindsay (Navin) Sachdev, Janine (John) and Riley Quin; great grandchildren Gregory, Nicholas, Alyssa, Dana, Julia, Dominic, Isaac, Eli, Dillon, Sean, Hannah, Molly, Aaron, Emily Hare, Abby, Katie, Hailey, Kelly and Laura, Ana, Liam and Charlotte, Marrisa, Tyler, Jersey and Kaiya; niece and nephews Cindy, Doug, and Jeff as well as her brother Ray (Lorraine) Harris.

June was an active participant in her church and enjoyed cooking, gardening and knitting. She loved her family and put everyone ahead of herself, always very thoughtful of others. June will be remembered as well for her love of animals. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, January 19th at 11:00am at Valley United Pentecostal Church, 1814 Fitzgerald Avenue, Courtenay.
