Formerly of Nanaimo (Harewood) and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Judith A. Packee, age 76, of Northwoods Beach, passed away in her sleep, Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the family home near Hayward, Wisconsin.
Judith Ann Larson was born October 30, 1941 in Litchfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Rudy and Ann (Donnay) Larson. She attended school in Litchfield and graduated from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in education. She was united in marriage on August 27, 1966 to Edmond C. Packee in Litchfield.
Judi taught junior/senior high school courses in English and drama in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Spooner, Wisconsin, Nanaimo, B.C. for 16 years where she taught at John Barsby, and North Pole, Alaska for 21 years. She retired from teaching in 2006 and moved to Northwoods Beach to Ed's family's home on Lac Courte Oreilles which she and Ed remodeled.
Judi treasured spending time with their 4 children and 6 grandchildren. She enjoyed living and traveling on Vancouver Island when their family was young, and finally in retirement on the beautiful shores of Lac Courte Oreilles.
Judi is survived by her husband, Ed, of nearly 52 years; their son, Eddie (Lori) Packee and grandchildren, Ivy and Jimmy of Fairbanks, Alaska; their daughters: Anne (Troy) Will and grandchildren, Kyra and Jordan of Brandon, MB; Jessica (Bond) Sutton and grandchildren, James and Jayne formerly of Kansas City, Missouri and now of Northwoods Beach; and Elise Packee of Northwoods Beach; and her pals Ruby and Tally, the Irish Setter and the hound.
Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Ann Larson, and her sisters, Joan and Janet. At Judi's request, private family services were held May 29, 2018: Mass of a Christian Burial at St. Francis Solanus Church and fireworks on the shore Lac Courte Oreilles to celebrate her life.
