It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joyce L. Command at the age of 91 on January 13, 2018. With a peaceful passing she is now happy to be in the arms of her Lord and reunited with the love of her life Joseph George who predeceased her in 1991.

She leaves behind her daughters Christein (Wes) Crabtree of Nanaimo and Judy (Tom) McGaw of Sylvan Lake Alberta.

Her grandchildren Geoff (Mary Carmen) Crabtree, Grant (Stephanie) Crabtree, Kimberly (Chris) Widner and Mike (Kelsey) McGaw along with her precious great grandchildren Jake, Mason, Steven and Alayna.

Predeceased by her sister Elsie Patrickson. Left to morn are her brothers Norman (Sue) Webster, Ralph (Bobbi) Webster, Bernie (Kathy) Webster, also she had a special place in her heart for her great god daughter Kate Findlay.

Huge thank you to her family doctor Sheila Findlay for providing compassionate care for mom.

Joyce was the definition of a volunteer. She worked joyously and tirelessly with no expectations of reward. Her smile and laughter touched many people in the community.

Throughout her life she was active in the First Baptist Church, Girl Guides of Canada, square dancing, the British Club and the Nanaimo Museum to name a few.

A private family interment will be followed by a memorial service celebrating her life at 1:30 Monday, January 22, 2018 at the First Baptist Church on Waddington Road, reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be welcomed.
