John William Strand

In the early morning on Saturday, January 28, 2017 John William Strand peacefully slipped away with his family by his side. John enjoyed a long and distinguished career, and was a highly regarded leader in the International Construction and Engineering field. Our generous, loving, wise, and kinder-than-words husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend will be deeply missed. We will always remember his warm smile and cheerful whistle. John loved life, family, music, dance, travel and had a passion for gardening. Survived by his loving wife Irene, children Chuck (Angela), Allison (Ray), Lance, James, and Brenda (Monty); Grandchildren Taylor (Jillian), Brandon, Trevor, Katie, Chelsea (Chris), Brent (Elena), Amanda and Riayn; Great grandchildren, Riley, Ainsley and John’s sister Olive. A private celebration of John’s life for family & close friends will be held at a later date.
