February 20, 1927 - July 30, 2018
On July 30, 2018 we said good-bye to John "Jack" Vincent Prestley.
Born in Nelson, BC February 20, 1927 to Joseph and Lydia Prestley, Jack had two brothers Michael "Mickey" and Barney and a sister, Francis.
Jack moved from Nelson to Nanaimo to play semi professional hockey and not long after moving to the island, he met and married Margaret "Peg" McArthur.
Peg and Jack had a long and busy life together in Nanaimo. They raised three sons, and welcomed three granddaughters to the Prestley clan before Peg passed away March 2001.
Jack is loved and survived by his sons; Martin (Nadia), Chris and David, granddaughters; Nicole, Sarah and Ricki-Lee and long time friend and frequent travel companion, Lois Miller.
As per Jack's wishes, there is no service planned at this time. Donations can be made in Jack's memory to the Peg Prestley Memorial Bursary through the Upper Island Musical Festival - Attention Mae Newsham.
