John (Jook) Louis Tesini

The best brother and uncle, the finest friend and neighbour, he most loyal husband, John died peacefully in Nanaimo Hospital on Aug. 31, 2011 at the good age of 95 years.

Born April 28, 1916, in South Wellington, he was the fourth child and only son of Louis Tesini and Maria Guizzetti. Family property at the corner of Haliburton and Finlayson became his home for more than 80 years.

John married Edna May Pollitt on July 6, 1940 – it was a marriage that lasted for 70 years, until her death in August, 2010.

John had a long career in sales with “Ernie Johnson” and then with “Nash Hardware”. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, lacrosse player, and (in his retirement) a passionate gardener.

Predeceased by his sisters: Lina Maggiora, Doreen Jones, and Iris Cuffalo. Missing him are his nieces: Adele Anderson (Phillip), Barbara Jones (Gaby), and Marie Wilkinson; nephews: Bob Pollitt (Dagny), Earl Pollitt, and Lew Maggiora (Hanna); and a circle of good friends.

A big “thank you” to all those who helped him in recent years – especially Phillip Schiller, Mike and Shirley Kosich, Gail Wade, Bev Raab, and the staff and residents at the Wexford Creek Care Home in Chase River. There will be no service at his request.
