It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Ernest Lyle, who passed away peacefully in Nanaimo, on January 6, 2018, with his loving wife, Pat, and family by his side.
Born Dec. 9, 1932 in Vancouver, lived most of his life on Vancouver Island.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends who will always remember his love of the ocean, boats, cars, and how important family and friends were to him.
Predeceased by his son Kelly, and his brother, Dave.
He leaves behind his wife, Pat, of 65 years, his children Linda, Jacie (Chris), David (Iona), Tammie (Jack), daughter-in-law, Donna, 10 grandchildren and their families which includes 17 great-grandchildren.
Also survived by siblings Liz, Anne, Mike and their families of Port Alberni and sister-in-law, Jay and family of Maple Ridge.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, Feb 2, 2018 at the Nanaimo Yacht Club, 400 Newcastle Ave.
