Uyeyama, “Jim” Taira
With deepest sadness, the Uyeyama family announces his death on Friday, September 30th, 2005 at the Nanaimo General Hospital. Jim was born in Nanaimo, September 9, 1933, recently celebrating his 72nd birthday. Jim will be dearly missed by surviving brothers and (in-laws); Takeshi (Marjorie) Mutsumi (Shizuye), George (Toshiko), (Kimiye), (Haruko), (Chizuko), his many nieces, nephews and his kind and devoted friends of Nanaimo. Joined in heaven by predeceased parents; Etsusaburo and Mitsuye Uyeyama: brothers Noboru, Masaru, Toru, Mitsuru, Kiyoshi, and sister Sawaye Matsunaga (Shizuo). The family extends sincere thanks for the care given by the Doctors and all the Staff at ICU, Nanaimo General Hospital. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, October 12th, 2005 at 2:00pm at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo with internment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family as your expression of sympathy.
