November 17, 1926 - April 11, 2019
Lenora passed away peacefully at Berwick on the Lake on April 11th surrounded by her family.  She will be lovingly remembered by sons Ross and Scott (Colleen), daughter Karen Brocklehurst (Des), grandchildren Kyla (Matt), Aaron (Randie), Brianna (Zhan), Kelsey, Spencer, and Tessa, great-grandchildren Carter, Olivia, Makenna, Naiyobi, Emmerson, Nash, Finley, Scarlett, and Lily, brothers Jack Menzies (Lettie) and Colin Menzies (Joyce). She was predeceased by Allan, her husband of  61 years and by her sister Jean Acland.  She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Lenora was born and raised in Victoria, B.C. where she met  her lifelong partner, Al in high school.  Work took them to Port Alberni in 1950.  The family moved to Nanaimo in 1954 where they built a lifetime of memories.  Very soon after settling in Nanaimo, they decided to get involved in community service. Mom was a member of Jaycettes and worked with dad on the empire day committee.  Through their service club involvement they developed many wonderful lifelong friendships.

Lenora and Al loved to travel, seeing many parts of the world. Family was always the most important thing to both of them.  Mom was so grateful when she finally had her first grandchild to spoil.  She continued to happily spoil all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

When Dad passed in 2008, mom moved into Berwick on the Lake. She continued building new friendships and became a favourite of the staff who knew her. She had a few serious health issues over the past few years and the family is grateful for the care she received from the many caring health care professionals.

At Lenora's request no memorial service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the heart and stroke fund or charity of your choice.
