Jeanne Veronica Travers
April 23, 1922 - October 5, 2017
Died peacefully with her family at her side at 5 pm on October 5, 2017 in her 96th year.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas (Nick), by twenty years and by her eldest daughter, Julia who died in 2009.
She leaves behind a son, Michael (Eve), a daughter, Tina (Dieter), six grandchildren, Mark, Teresa, Lynne, Tanya, Clare and Martin, twelve great-grandchildren and
two great-great-grandchildren on two continents.
She was born on 23rd April 1922, in Plymouth, England. Jeanne travelled the world extensively with Nick on his tours of duty with the Royal Navy and the Merchant Navy. In 1965
they settled down, making their home on Vancouver Island.
Jeanne was above all a devoted mother and grandmother, creating a comfortable home wherever she was. Her extended family was her foremost interest and love. She was also an accomplished gardener, painter, cook and an ardent bridge player. Jeanne was always ready for a party and an opportunity to tell stories of her travels.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Cone for his care and constant kindness, the staff at Lakeside Gardens and all her care providers at Dufferin Place who went over and above in
caring for her, and special thanks to Brian.
A celebration of mum's life will be held on the Dingle Peninsula, C. Kerry, Ireland.
