Jean-Pierre Legrand passed away peacefully in the Nanaimo Hospital June 23, 2018 at 77 years old from Alzheimer's.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Yvette of 54 years, son Pierre Junior (Laurie), grandchildren Nathan & Michelle in Washington State, USA, brothers Marc (Marc), Rejean (Monique), Carol (Marielle), sisters Dorothy and Mariette (Jean Claude), all in Quebec.
He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Germaine Legrand, and brother in law Henry. Jean-Pierre worked as a Pipefitter/Welder and was highly sought after; known for his expert Titanium Welds. His work took him to many countries: USA, Cuba, and Indonesia, to name a few. At home he loved to be out on the road riding his Harley (Old Paint), many times with Yvette joining him exploring the country side. He was known for his love of animals and had many cherished pets throughout his life.
We would like to thank the staff and nurses on the 4th floor and special thanks to Care Aid, Robert. Also, the wonderful team on the Palliative Care Unit.
No service at family's request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the SPCA would be greatly appreciated.
