Aug 4, 1956 - Apr 28, 2018
It's with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janice Sandra Tukham (nee Dady) on April 28th 2018. Jan was born in Ladysmith BC on August 4th 1956 to Art and Betty Dady, the middle of 3 daughters.

Jan lived most of her life in the Cassidy area surrounded by trees, flowers and mother natures big and small creatures. She loved the serenity that country living had to offer.

Jan worked for the ministry of highways for a number of years holding a variety of positions. Health issues in the early 90s forced Jan to leave work but not stop the helping ways that she will be so remembered for. Whether it was St Joseph's School, the Ladysmith Yacht Club, the area H advisory planning commission, or the Nanaimo United Soccer Club she always rose to the occasion and was recognized for her hard work, diligence and attention to detail.

Jan loved family, friends, camping, flowers, wild birds and Sunday drives. Jan is survived by her loving family, husband Fred, daughter Jennifer (Ken) Richards, sisters Maria Dady and Laura (Bruce) Hansen, sister/brother in laws, Deb and Harold Rutti, Kate and Rob Tukham plus many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jan valiantly fought lupus for 41 years and rarely complained of the discomfort afforded by the disease or its treatment. The family would like to thank all of the medical personnel that cared for Jan over the years including most recently ICU and 3rd floor staff at the Victoria Royal Jubilee and ICU staff at NRGH. A special thanks to Dr Emily Steeves, Dr John Laing, Dr Rene Weir, Dr Bryan Wells and Dr Michael Kenyon.

In lieu of flowers donations would be gratefully accepted in Jan's memory to the BC Lupus Society or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Those wishing to donate blood in Jan's memory can contact Canadian Blood Services.

Our "fighter girl" will always be loved and never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held on May12th 12:30 - 4 pm at the Cottonwood Golf Course.
