Jean passed away peacefully at Kiwanis Lodge on Saturday, November 13, 2004. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Brown, husband Eric and sisters Connie Brown and Gladys Brunt. She will be deeply missed by her sister Florence Donaldson; sons Ted (Edith) Rumming and Larry (Alfonsa) Rumming; grandchildren Arlene (Rick) Hargraves, John (Dale) Rumming, Nyla (Trevor) Williams; great-grandchildren, Michael Hargraves, Brea Williams; and great-great-grandson Cameron Andersen. Jean was born in Hirst, Ashington, England January 1, 1911 and came to South Wellington when she was 5 months old. A nomad of sorts, she had lived in Roslyn, Washington, Nanaimo, Courtenay, Port Alberni, Chemainus and French Creek. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. D. L. Bradley and the wonderful staff at Kiwanis Lodge for the care given to Jean. A tea in her memory will be held at Kiwanis Lodge, 1st floor, 1221 Kiwanis Crescent at 2pm on Sunday, November 21, 2004. flowers are gratefully declined.
