Dad passed away at NRGH in the early hours of January 2, 2007, he was born in Bow River Alberta on May 5, 1922.

He served with the Canadian Army from November 1942 until his honourable discharge in July 1946. He served in Canada, Britain and Northern Europe.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne (nee McColl) after over 50 years of happy marriage.

Dad was a member of the IBEW and worked on various construction sites throughout the province ending his career in retirement from MacMillan Bloedel, Harmac.

He loved to hunt, fish, curl and golf and was an avid cribbage player.

He leaves behind a loving family, daughter Kathleen (Friend), son-in-law Bob and grandchildren Zack and Kaitlin, and daughter Cyndy (Dunn), son-in-law Rick and grandsons Ryan and Stacey and great grandson Liam and grandson Morgan and Corinne and great granddaughter Gabriella and many nieces and nephews.

We will miss you terribly but know you and Mom are together once again.

A celebration of Jack’s life will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the upper lounge of the Nanaimo Curling Rink on Wall St. No flowers by request please. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Steven Beerman who cared for Dad with humour and dignity for many years.
