Jack Brian Mitchener

November 23, 1923 - October 24, 2017

Jack Brian Mitchener passed away peacefully on October 24, 2017 at his Chartwell Malaspina Care Facility residence.

Born in Saskatoon, Sask. He moved to many locations in his lifetime. Jack's first career was an International Radio Operator (morse code) on the weather ships, which is how he met Maureen, his wife. They would talk to each other teasingly and secretly in morse code when sitting at the dinner table with their children; Kerry, Mona, Patti, and Sharon.

He married in 1955 to Maureen who was the love of his life. He worked most of his working years at BC Hydro as a draftsman and numerous supervisory positions.

He had a passion for Round Dancing with Maureen. Jack was an exceptional dancing partner that made dancing very enjoyable and seem so easy.

We would like to thank VIHA, Medical staff at Nanaimo hospital, and the wonderful staff at Chartwell Malaspina Care Facility who took care of him till the end.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sisters, 4 children, 9 Grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

In respecting his request, there will not be any funeral services.

From the family of Jack Mitchener.
