J. Robson Sutherland
November 1938 – December 2012
It is with great sadness that the family of Robson Sutherland announces his passing, peacefully, at home with his family on December 11, 2012.
Robson will be greatly missed by his wife Anne; his daughters Caroline (Brit), Francine (Chris); granddaughter Abigail; his nephews William & Daniel; stepchildren Sonya, Peter & Judith and their families. Rob was predeceased by his parents Anne & John; his sister Margery, and brother-in-law Leonard.
Rob was born in Chesterville, Ontario in November 1938. He grew up on the farm and had many fond memories of life in the country. He was a man of many talents but his music definitely topped the list. Music was an important aspect of his life and he gave hours of listening pleasure to many people. When he became too ill to play, earlier this year, it really hurt him and took some of his wonderful spirit away, but he never lost this great sense of humour. He even joked about his pending death. In his words “I had a pretty good life and not too much to complain about.”
At Robson’s request, there will be no service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
