After a brief illness, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend. He was surrounded by family. He leaves behind a great testimony of perseverance, love and devotion to his family and special friends.

Predeceased by his parents Dimo Jordanov and Katarina Jordanov nee Fedak of Nanaimo and older sister Olga Eric nee Jordanov of Croatia.

Survived by and married 60 ½ years to his “Slatko Srce” (Sweetheart) and loving Wife – Ruth. They met at a 1954/1955 New Year’s Eve dance in Calgary, Alberta and remained together ever since. She will miss him and hold his memory close to her heart everyday.

Survived by children – Michaela Jordanov (Calgary), Nada Jordanov (Nanaimo), Joan Jordanov (Nanaimo), Gregory (Michelle) Jordanov (Dawson Creek) and Jeffory Jordanov (Lisa Guizzo) Nanaimo, Grandchildren – Christina Buchan, Nicole (Lee) Proctor, Michael Arient (B.J. Pelletier), Jordan Arient, Jason (Stacey) Jordanov Pilon, Tania Jordanov, Evan, Julia and Kaitlyn Jordanov, Allison and Lauren Cronk.

Great Grandchildren- Hunter Wong, Callum Proctor, Sara, Austin & Ryley Jordanov Pilon and Emily Bailey.

Survived by his youngest sister Mary Vasic of Nanaimo, and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Slavonski Brod, Croatia (Yugoslavia), he emigrated to Canada in 1951 with his parents – Dimo& Katarina and youngest sister Mary.

A Machinist by trade, he loved to work with his hands. Creating and teaching his craft of woodworking, gardening, and construction. His passions were fishing, gardening, hunting and making things. Most of all he loved being with family. He enjoyed sitting around the table with his bride, children and grandchildren. His door was always open to anyone and everyone. A man of few words, he taught many through example that hard work and dedication can produce a fruitful life.

Monday March 13, 2017 @ 10am Viewing at Sands Funeral Centre – Newcastle Ave Nanaimo.

Celebration of Life to follow @12pm at Nanaimo German Cultural Centre -71 Caledonia Ave Nanaimo.
