Harding, Irene Lillian
It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Lillian Harding announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, August 13th 2016. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, and her sons Douglas, Hugh (Karen) and Jeffrey (Martha). Irene is also survived by her sisters Katherine and Joan.
The family wishes to thank the staff on the 4th floor of the Nanaimo General Hospital as well as the staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their wonderful care of Irene.
Irene was born in Merritt, B.C. on December 12, 1926, the 2nd eldest of five daughters. She and Jim were married in 1951 and were looking forward to their 65th wedding anniversary later this year. Irene and Jim spent most of their married life in North Vancouver before retiring in Nanaimo. While in North Vancouver, Irene studied Early Childhood Education and taught pre-school for many years. In her retirement in Nanaimo she took-up carpet bowling which she loved.
At the family’s request there will be no service at this time. Irene lived a full and happy life and will be missed greatly.
