Irene Joyce Irvine passed away in the Palliative care unit of Nanaimo hospital on October 3, 2007, just 3 days before her 85th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband James Bailey in 1995, son-in-law Chuck Field in 1992, and grandson Garth Field in 1985. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Yvonne Field (Gary Ruffle) and her son Jim Irvine (Penny), granchildren Murray Field (Trish), Jai Irvine (Bal), Andrew Irvine (Kelly), David Irvine (Karen) and Jennifer Irvine, great-grandchildren Charley and Jacob Field, Ellie Irvine, Zoli and AJ Irvine and Kathryn Irvine. Joyce was born in Belfast, N. Ireland where she met and married James in 1940. They immigrated to Vancouver Island in 1953 where they lived for the rest of her life. Mom devoted her life to her family, her home, and her garden. Everything bloomed under her care.
She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations to the palliative care unit of Nanaimo hospital would be appreciated.
