SCHWEMLER, Ina Myrtle

December 23, 1928 - December 2, 2016

Ina was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan, and also lived in Nova Scotia and Ontario before moving to the West Coast in 1964.

She was a caring mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Ina loved animals, especially horses. She grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and always had a dog around the house. She also had pet hummingbirds, which stayed with her year round.

She enjoyed travelling, and went on as many trips as she could. Many were cruises, with days added on to visit the various countries, while others were simple camping trips.

Ina also enjoyed playing crib, mah-jong and euchre and played as often as she could. She was a very passionate player, and developed many great friendships over the years.

Some of her other passions included dancing, cooking, gardening, golfing, curling, bowling and playing softball.Ina was also a member of the Moose, the Legion and the Foresters.

While raising a family, Ina also worked full-time. Some of her employers included CPR Ferries, IGA, Woodwards, Eatons and McLeods. In 1973 she started working for BC Ferries in Departure Bay as a Catering Attendant. Ina then transferred to the Queen of the North in 1978, travelling between Port Hardy to Prince Rupert for seven years. When Ina returned to Departure Bay in 1985 she became a Cashier where she stayed until she retired.

Ina passed away unexpectedly at the age of 87, and she will be forever in our hearts.

Predeceased by her husband Joe Schwemler, Ina leaves behind her sons Bryan (Monica) Tysowski, Murray (Merydie) Tysowski and Alan (Tracey) Schwemler; her grandchildren Christine (Kerry), Heather (Bryden), Ryan, Leah (Don) and Tina (chase); her great-grandchildren Stephen, Brendan and Carter.

Ina will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of life will take place at the Moose Hall at 1:00 on January, 14, 2016.
