Howard passed away peacefully at Magnolia Gardens in Langley, B.C. at the age of 96 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Dottie in 2011, they were married for 66 years. He leaves to mourn his loving daughters Bonnie Christopherson and Jill (Jim) Chapman. Grandpa "Chris" also leaves 4 grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Coulman, Julie (Ken) Rowe-Scott, Christie (Matt) Chapman-Rogelstad, Jake Chapman. 8 great grandchildren, Anna, Michael,

Jaden, Rachel, Max, Cali, Coco, Brady.

Howard was born in a farm house near Brock, Saskatchewan, he was the youngest of 6 children. He served in the Navy in World War 2. He was involved in real estate in Vancouver and semi retired to Nanaimo in 1969 when he bought Petroglyph Mobile Park. Howard was an avid and competitive curler and very active in the Vancouver and Nanaimo Curling Clubs. He also was a passionate fisherman with his boat the "Bon-Jill" at Schooner Cove Marina. He took up golf later in life and was a member of Fairwinds Golf Club and got 2 holes-in-ones. He also loved all card games especially poker and bridge.

He lived a long, good and full life and will be missed and fondly remembered by family and many friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Magnolia Gardens for their kind and compassionate care.

A funeral service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Ave. Nanaimo on Friday December 14th at 11:30 am with a reception to follow. Interment will take place after the reception at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, 2347 Cedar, B.C. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
