Herbert Wayne Risedorf

July 27, 1938 - November 2, 2021
It is with great honour, pride and sorrow we announce the passing of Herbert Wayne Risedorf on November 2, 2021 with the comfort of his loving wife Grace-Anne, his son Rod and daughter Gwen by his side.
He was born on July 27, 1938 in Prince Albert, SK. In 1955, his family came to Nanaimo and Herb graduated from Nanaimo High School in 1957. His passion for people, family and community was demonstrated by his choice of career, becoming a member of the Nanaimo Fire Department. He served his city for 20 years.
Herb was predeceased by his parents Bob and Viola and sister Dorothy. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years Grace-Anne, son Rod, daughter Gwen Briggs, granddaughter Lauren Briggs (Brandon Ludvigson), Amanda Peters (Ryan), four great-grandchildren Braxton, Brooklyn, Ryden and Rio, nephew Jim Banman, niece Barbara Cupples and their families.
A Celebration of Herb's life will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the Nanaimo Yacht Club, 400 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, BC between 1 and 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Due to covid rules, there will be limited seating. If you plan to attend please register with 250-245-0907 or 250-619-3434. There are only 75 seats available.
The Nanaimo Yacht Club requires proof of double vaccination and that masks be worn.
