Henry (Art) Lefever passed away peacefully the afternoon of August 29 after a quick decline of health.
Art leaves his loving wife, Marlene, daughter Angela Haggith, son Steve Haggith, grandchildren Oake, Kalen, Chelsea Haggith, Brandi and Sasha, also 4 children Rodger, Larry, Francis, Robert and 6 grandchildren; sister Helene (Jean-Guy) Pharand, North Bay Ontario, brother Larry (Mickey) Bean Orleans, Ontario.
Art served in the Canadian Armed Forces 21 years; he was a Korean War veteran and served in many countries overseas in peacekeeping missions.
Art contributed much time to various organizations, was President of Korea Veterans Nanaimo, member of Queen's Own Rifles, 40-year member Royal Canadian Legion. Art also enjoyed spending much time with shut in veterans.
Art and Marlene spent much time travelling to many different countries and on many road trips. Art especially enjoyed introducing Oake, Kalen, and Chelsea to travel, enjoying a yearly week in Mexico, and many camping and road trips.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday 21 September 2019 1 pm at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 256 East Wellington Rd. Nanaimo.
