HIEBERT - HELEN (nee Muzzin)
March 7, 1922 ~ January 29, 2009
Helen, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 29, 2009 at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. She was a life-long resident of Nanaimo. Helen was predeceased by her husband Diedrich, sisters Annie and Mafalda, and brother Rudy. Helen is survived by her two sons David (Robin), Derrick (Correen), grandchildren Jessica, Kate, Cory and James, and great-grandson Ethan Loos. Survived by one sister, Norma Sevcov, she also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Helen was a founding member of the Sisters of Felice Cavallotti Lodge, a long-time member of the Eagles, and a member of many bowling teams over the years.
We will remember her lifelong dedication and devotion to those she so fiercely loved; her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandson, as well as her talents for gardening, cooking, knitting and crocheting ... and dancing ... oh, how she loved to dance. We will miss you Nona ... we are thankful for all of the wonderful times and memories.
A gathering of family and friends took place on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the home of her eldest son. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all who were able to come and show their sympathy and support. Your presence meant a great deal to us.
We would also like to thank the staff at both Lakeside Gardens and NRGH who provided great compassion and care to Helen.
